| Winter of their discontent |
Harvard University president Lawrence Summers had the timerity to suggest hypotheses science might care to examine. Apparently, that was politically incorrect. Summers has resigned. Belmont Club comments:Never has free speech been under such sustained attack as it is today, whether over cartoons, loopy historical theories or academic questions about differences in gender aptitude. People who think they can express an opinion because they work for a newspaper, are professional historians or the president of the richest and most famous university in the world should think again. And if the great are cowed can the small rest easy? |

| David Gregory, I Revoke My Proxy |
| NBC reporter David Gregory jumped the shark when he was torqued to discover that he had been bypassed by vice president Dick Cheney during his shooting incident. Why Cheney would want to throw the White House press corps a bone is beyond me. Gregory, according to his remarks on "Meet the Press", presumes he is a proxy for the American people. Transterrestrial Musings makes a suggestion: "In fact, let's start a Google campaign. David Gregory, I revoke my proxy."
Well, David Gregory, I revoke my proxy. |
