CVS dancers win big

The RFA auditorium was transformed to a scene out of So You Think You Can Dance for the 2010 Encore DCS competition. Twenty-six girls from all grade levels from CVS School of Dance competed in the competition. Seven other studios from around New York and Canada competed.

Some of the biggest winners were junior Morghan Hall and Senior Rachel Skavina winning three and two 1st place awards between the solo and duo categories respectively. Morghan's Duo with eighth grader Jaqlyn Colangelo was a musical theatre number from the movie Shrek. After the performance one mother said the dance was "like watching a Broadway play". Senior Anna Salvador also won second place in her solo and duo with Rachel Skavina.

In the group competition the dancers won second in their jazz routine. Morghan Hall('11), Megan Kunkle, Sydney Sjoblom ('12), Jaqlyn Colangelo ('14), Adriana Scalice, and Alyx Durso ('13) were in the routine. Also they received third in their lyrical routine, senior Rachel Shavina was also in this routine. In large group they won third in both jazz and lyrical. Danielle Darois ('11), Alex Santamore ('10), Anna Salvador ('10), and Brenda Edwards were added to these routines.

Angels 1,2,and3 all won 1st place in their group routines Angels 1 and 2 both got an overall rating in their category.
