Austin Welch, a young freshman student at RFA was given the opportunity to be the Rome Free Academy Varsity manager and being able to play in a JV game and make a two-point basket. He was put into the game at the last few minutes.
After trying out for the team, the head coach decided to put him as the Varsity manager to help the team out for their season. Austin has been attending the practices and the home and away games just like the regular kids put on the teams and helped by being a supporter for them. He has been participating in his role and has helped the basketball program with his presence.
"He was our manager for the team and he seemed to enjoy his role,"said RFA sophmore Llyod Parkmond.
"I encouraged him to tryout for the team" said RFA sophmore Brandon Gullo.
With all his help and commitment to the RFA basketball program this year the team was able to do well and work together with the support of their Freshman manager for the season. Austin enjoyed his role on the team given to him and the players noticed. He showed dedication and enjoyment for the time he played in the JV game and the basket that he made.
Also, today is the career fair at RFA. Juniors will get a chance to visit with representatives from various occupations in order to gain some insight on their future. Students will be called down alphabetically, so pay attention for your name!

Up to this point seniors are in the lead with 925 points, followed by the juniors with 425 points. Sophomores are at third with 350 points and freshman are bringing up the rear with 275 points. Way to go seniors!
