hey... remember this sketch?
0524:

well, i loved it so much... that i just HAD to turn it into a painting.  i just happen to of had a 2 ft. x 3 ft. canvas lying about so i went to work...

first i penciled the sketch onto the canvas.  i do have a shot of that, but it's so bad that even photoshop couldn't save it...

after i figured out how to compose the sketch on the canvas i blocked in the big color areas...i'm horrible with color... absolutely horrible... so i figured that i did this huge 3ft.x 4ft painting last year:
2005piece:
whose dominant color was blue--- and since, in all likelyhood, the sketch will hang next to the 2005 piece, let's make this year's piece's dominant color a red/salmon thing---
painting:
the photo does the red very little justice.
after the big areas were in i went in and did some VERY preliminary detail work:
painting2:
and that's where i left it for the time being.  i'm used to getting something done in a matter of hours, so something that takes days to complete is relatively foreign to me.

i will definitely post updates when they become available.
