i've never been very good at sports---i played farm league baseball when i was a kid...farm league was between t-ball and little league.. my second year of playing (as the catcher) i broke my nose... well, the baseball that was hurled at my head broke my nose--- but that's another story for another time.
as i've stated before, i am a documentary junkie--- absolutely love them. and even though i am not a fan of sports, i AM a fan of sports documentaries...i love it when athletes describe a game winning or defining moment play--- there's something about putting into words an action that seems so nonchalant, simple and perfect that gets me in my chest.
these athletes describe themselves shutting out the roar of the crowd, the opposing team around them and, in some cases, their own team... and just doing what had to be done when it needed to be done... being in the zone.
now, i don't know if i was truly "in the zone" this morning, but the cartoon came to me fluid and fast... as you can see, i didn't even bother to finish the sketch.

i live for moments like this...
